Dyed Armpit hair!

Would you dye your armpit hair?

A couple of weeks ago, my husband pointed out an article in the New York Times about women who dye their armpit hair. I read the article and found it quite interesting. I am not sure if I would want to go though the process of dying my armpit hair. Personally,  I don't let the hair under my arm to grow long at all, I always shave it. I do admire women with long underarm hair and now colored, what a great idea. Maybe I might let my armpit hair grow now so that I can color mine, we will see!

Treating your skin with different Oils

Have you ever wonder about the benefits of body oils?

                                                                   Google image

I love using oils in the summer and I feel that it absorbs into the skin easier. I have over the years wonder about oils and found some information that I will love to share. I also have been using most of these oils for as long as I can remember.
The chart below offers simple benefits and explanations for essential oils that one might find helpful. I am sure there is a whole lot more to know about these oils since they have been used since the beginning of time for centuries. Even today many beauty products use these oils to enhance its effects on the skin and also smells good too. I hope this information is helpful.

Carrot seed essential oil

Carrot seed essential oil has a rejuvenating effect on the skin. It not only works to
help smooth skin, but assists with cell regeneration. For this reason, it can help to fade
scars and improve the tone of aging skin. I am not sure about the smell personally but everyone is different.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense essential oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory benefits to the skin,
making it ideal for acne-prone skin. It is also a natural toner, decreasing the appearance
of pores and evening skin-tone. It is cytophylactic, which means that it helps protect
existing cells and encourage new cell growth. For this reason, it helps reduce wrinkles,
tighten skin, and reduce the appearance of scars. It also helps soothe chapped, dry skin. The smell is a bit strong but its ok when mixed with a carrier oil like olive oil, jojoba or grape-seed oil.

Geranium Essential Oil

Geranium essential oil helps regulate oil production and reduces acne breakouts. It also
helps improve skin elasticity and tighten skin, reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
It also promotes blood circulation to the areas where it is applied, helping to heal
bruises, broken capillaries, burns, cuts, dermatitis, eczema, ringworm, and other
skin conditions. Personally I feel this oil also smells a bit strong.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil helps lighten the appearance of age spots and scars. It is helps
regenerate skin cells so is great for mature skin, sun spots, and scarring. Another great
oil for all skin types and needs. The smell is great, light and almost everyone like this smell, I love using it at night before bed as a roomspray.

Lemon Essential Oil

Lemon essential oil is a wonderful natural astringent and antibacterial agent. As such,
it is extremely beneficial to those with oily and acne. Be careful when using it and the amount of sun you are exposed it daily.

Myrrh Essential Oil

Myrrh essential oil greatly benefits aging skin. It has strong anti-inflammatory properties
that help improve skin tone, firmness, and skin elasticity, reducing the appearance of
fine lines and wrinkles. Myrrh can also help heal sun damage, chapped skin, rashes,
and eczema. Smells a bit strong personally, but as I said before everyone is different

Neroli Essential Oil

Neroli essential oil is great for oily, sensitive, and mature skin. It helps to smooth fine
lines and tone sagging skin. This rejuvenating oil contains a natural chemical called citral,
which helps regenerate cells. For this reason, it is said to be very good at preventing and
healing stretch marks, as well. Its antiseptic properties also balance oil production and
shrink the appearance of pores without drying skin. I love the smell personally.

Patchouli Essential Oil

Patchouli essential oil is particularly great for aging skin. It promotes new cell growth
and smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Because it also has antiseptic,
antifungal, and antibacterial properties, it can also benefit skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, and acne.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree essential oil is one of the more well-known essential oils for acne-prone skin. It’s antibacterial properties help ward off acne-causing bacteria. It also helps to regulate oil
production, which can decrease the severity and incidence of breakouts. I use this when I have the spot breakouts and it actually works.

Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Ylang ylang essential oil is one of my favorite essential oils because of its rich, floral fragrance.
It is helps to control oil production and minimize breakouts. It also helps regenerate skin cells, smoothing fine lines and improving skin elasticity. Another great essential oil for every skin type. I also love this smell.

I like to wear jewellery that small, with sparkles and sometimes pearls intermittently and depending on my feeling, outfit and occasion. I mostly prefer to get my jewellery from nordstrom stores. But sometimes I would get my earrings from small family jewellery stores, this is rare. Anyway my favorite brand of jewelery is mostly Givenchy and sometimes Katespade. I have included images of a few jewellery that I already have and have been eyeballing for a few days now, let me know what you think?

Best Fabrics for Winter

I was wondering what are the best fabrics to wear in the winter. I know we are still in the middle of summer but why not be pro active. I did a quick search online and found some interesting information that I would love to share with you.

Wool

Wool

Wool is available in a variety of weights and textures, and is one of the warmest fabrics. Fine wools tend to be less itchy than coarse wools. Wools that are blended with other fabrics are not as warm as 100 percent wool, and their warmth depends on the percentage of wool in the fabric. Wool fabric is the best choice for outerwear in cold climates. Wools made from sheep, lamb, alpaca or camel hair will each have a different weight and feel, and all offer warmth and comfort.

Silk

Silk

Silk is an elegant fabric with a soft, draping texture. It is one of the oldest fabrics known and is still considered luxurious. It is a natural fiber from the cocoon of the silkworm. As a layer against the skin, in the form of undergarments, it will keep you toasty warm in winter. Since silk absorbs moisture, it helps the body maintain an even temperature when transitioning between warm indoor and cold outdoor temperatures. It is lightweight and adapts well to layering for additional warmth.

Flannel

 Flannel

Flannel is a knitted fabric that is typically 100 percent cotton or a blend of various fabrics. Cotton and loose wool or wool and synthetic blends provide light and medium weights of flannel fabrics. It is a thin fabric, reducing bulk and allowing for ease of layering garments. Less expensive than cashmere or wool, flannel is soft against the skin. It is often combined with a quilted backing for additional insulation and warmth. By itself, flannel is comfortable to wear and provides a warm, thin layer against the cold.

Fleece

Fleece is a thick, lightweight fabric that has a soft feel. It is made from either a cotton or synthetic material, with the synthetic polyester polar fleece varieties providing the best insulation. Both thick and thin fleece fabrics are available, with thin fleece used for undergarments as well as outerwear. Thinner fleece fabrics add a soft, brushed layer of insulation against the skin and are breathable and lightweight. Polyester fleece wicks sweat away from the skin and has good thermal insulation properties, helping your skin breathe and maintain a comfortable temperature in the coldest weather.

Cashmere

Cashmere

While purchasing a wool sweater for cheap sounds recession-friendly. It's probably not the most cost effective. After a while, that wool sweater will lose its shape, and will sometime leave you itchy. On the other hand, a soft, lightweight cashmere sweater — if cared for properly — will continue to fit snug against your body and keep you warm for a lifetime of winters to come. When it comes to price-per-wear, cashmere is the way to go.

While the cost of Cashmere can be pricy sometimes it's worth the comfort, especially for those winter months when you just want to be something soft and still look good.

Keeping warm in the coldest temperatures can mean the difference between doing the things you love outdoors or staying inside. When you spend time outdoors in winter, whether for short periods or extended ones, it is important to wear clothing that helps your body maintain a comfortable temperature. Hectic mornings and a Spot of Tea?

I was in New York for a few weeks and realizes that sometimes walking along the busy NYC streets in the morning can be hectic. You have to calculate where you can walk and not bump into people or have people bump into you. It can sometimes feel like a game of bumper cars, except you are trying to avoid your car from getting bumped or from bumping into someone else.

Maybe once in a while just getting out the door 10 minutes early and stopping at a tea/coffee shop on your way to work or where ever you are heading, and sitting for 2-5 minutes to have a sip of tea/coffee can feel so fulfilling. Maybe even treating yourself to a sweet treat can make your morning commute less hectic and give you a few minutes to just be in the moment.

These are so inspirational to store tea bags in, what do you think?

Sometimes just taking a time out in the morning is all you need. How do you get grounded in the mornings?
